How to Be Productive During Your Downtime

The hours of work are long, and every second counts. How will you spend them?

A quote by Lauren Oliver says “Time waits for no man, but progress waits for man to enact it”. Spending the hours wisely and productively can help you make the most out of the daily grind.

Here are a few tips to help you become productive even during your downtime.

Need tasks? Set goals

Setting goals is a great use of your time, so make it an important task all on its own.

Set goals for what kind of work you should get done, like getting a number of reports finished, typing up a number of blogs for the day, or even settling any pending tasks for certain clients in the weeks ahead.

You’ve got to have goals and you need to be spending time on getting them accomplished at work if you really want to push your real estate business forward.

Have plans

You can’t just jump right into your workload without having a plan. Draft out some plans. A few minutes of putting thought into these won’t cost you anything but time.

Terrible use of time is shifting from one thing to another. So, as much as possible, draft out your plans for the weeks ahead while you still have idle time. For sure, you can still enjoy quality time with the family while you are at it.

Say No to distractions

One of the greatest devourers of time are distractions, so don’t let them get the better of you!

Erase all distractions, current, and potential, out of your work hours. Don’t get hooked on your phone and don’t surf the net while you’re in the middle of a task.

Finish up whatever tasks you’ve got lined and never let your distractions take up all the hours at work you need to spend wisely or it will be too late.

Spending your time at work is a tricky endeavor. It requires knowing what you need to be spending time on and when to spend it. So make sure you know what you’ll be doing so you can keep on nurturing your venture even when there’s not much action happening.
