Who is Logan?

My name is Logan and currently, I'm a Realtor in Langley, BC. I got my start in real estate when I was at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops as an executive for the local real estate investment group. I was only 18 when this happened and I got that role by reaching out to someone in Kamloops on Biggerpockets who was in search of properties. I asked if there was anything I can do to help out (not knowing a thing about real estate) and he pretty much said find me deals. I sent garbage for the most part until I figured out he was the president of the local investor's group so I went and met him then got a better idea of what exactly he was looking for. What zoning, floodplains, location, etc. I kept coming back to the meetings, early might I ad so I could do whatever to help set up and get to know the other executives better and then by them seeing how motivated I was they offered me a position so I could stick around and not pay the membership fee.

I was only with them for a semester and a half or so before relocating back to the Lower Mainland but had I not, there is no way I would be where I am. That is what made me fall in love with real estate investing and drove me to do what it takes to become one of them. I began to realize its pretty hard (not impossible) to become an investor without any money and every once in awhile on the BP podcasts would hear someone talk about how beneficial having their license was for them. I started listening to Realtor related podcasts and finally found the career I was searching for. I literally went to university for the sole reason of helping myself get into real estate and I found it through podcasts. However, had I not gotten the $15,000 student loan and went to uni and met those investors there is no way I would be here today doing what I'm doing.

I may have hyped it up that this all happened quite some time ago but this all happened last year, I just had my 20th birthday last weekend. Looking back it's actually kind of surprised me how far I've come but it really excites me to see what will happen over the course of this year. I've been a Realtor now for about five months and managed to pull off three deals my first two months for a total volume of 2.8 million. My goals for this year is to get started investing in real estate and complete five condo flips using none of my own money. On top of that my other career goals is rookie of the year as a Realtor, starting an online cannabis business and do what I can to get towards starting a development/building company. Thanks to an injury during construction in 2015, in the mail is a check for $22,000 which I'm planning on using towards starting the cannabis business as the money I've made in commissions is enough to support me as a Realtor for now.

So where this blog goes from here, I have no idea. I have a website that serves as a career journal as well but I will keep posts on here relevant to real estate. I hope this turns into something educational or motivating but personally, I hope to be able to look back and read about how it all started and the path real estate takes me on.
