Talking about real estate got me a property... for free! Day-3

This post is part of a blog series I'm doing where I will post every single day for 100 days straight about my real estate investing journey. Today is day 3 and I will be talking about how I got a free property for just talking about real estate.

While cooking something for lunch in my apartment earlier today I heard in a Bigger Pockets Podcast how people found deals by just talking about real estate. It's not luck, it's creating opportunity, this is true. This happened to me the day before yesterday. My mother called and told me my grandparents could give me a 2-unit house in Guánica, Puerto Rico, to fix up if I wanted. It can be a beautiful vacation house. It looks over a beautiful bay and has more than 10 beaches under ten minutes by car. How did this happen so easily? I just told my parents I was reading about real estate and interested in finding deals. My mom told my grandparents and they just handed me that property. This is mind blowing for me, I encountered real estate investing a month ago and now I have a property? Whew...

The lesson in here is that you don't need to do crazy things or have all the time in the world to find properties and get yourself started, so yell through your window that your interested in buying properties, maybe your neighbor will give it to you.
