Why am I doing my first blog post at 12:00am... #100DaysOfRealEstate

Why am I doing my first blog post at 12:00am? Because I watched a Brandon Turner's video on youtube that encouraged the watcher/wannabe real estate investor, to take at least 30 minutes a day to do something ACTIONABLE to get they're first deal. This video reminded me the way I landed a coding job after teaching my myself for only 6 months using free online tutorials.

It was all thanks to a twitter hashtag: #100DaysOfCoding. The user who created it, said that doing it every single day, for at least one hour, would make the learning process so much faster. I started tweeting the hashtag every single day with a short text of what I've learned or did that day. Eventually, I stopped tweeting but the habit kept on and I landed a dream job. My parents, who were doubtful at first of my new found pleasure/hobby/waste of time, were amazed of how quickly I became a programmer and expressed how proud they were.

Now I want to hack myself into learning real estate like I did with coding. Tony Robbins says people overestimate what they can do in a year but underestimate what they can do in a decade. I believe in this and the power of habit in transforming peoples lives of people who truly dedicate to something and STICK TO IT. This post will be the official start of my journey but now public so I feel responsible for sharing what I learn in the process.

So far, since I discovered BiggerPockets a month ago, I've met with 5 real estate agents, talked to 3 different lenders, got pre-qualified, and seen at least 10 properties, all in the area of San Juan, Puerto Rico. I have made 3 low ball offers and got rejected in all of them but I've learnt so much in the process. I'm so excited of what's to come, send your best wishes! I'll keep you guys posted.
