Square 1 - It all begins with that first step.

I can admit it. I played Hop Scotch when I was a little boy. You remember, that game where you wrote the numbers from 1 through 9, placed each of them in boxes large enough to place one foot in. You'd throw a rock into each successive number, hop to that number and hop back, without falling or touching the lines. The goal was to get all the way to Sky Blue and then make it back safe and sound.

Making my way to Sky Blue and back, within the field of Real Estate would be the equivalent of competently applying techniques of real estate investing, to create a passive income stream which would allow my family more flexibility in terms of where we decide to live and what impassioned path we choose to follow.

Our journey of real estate investing will probably not be an original one. We will be riding on the backs of others who have taken on this path and have been kind enough to share their trials and tribulations with the general public. All we're trying to do is what many others before us have already done, and what yet others are striving to do in the near or distant future, allow their money to work for them through real estate investing. The specific decisions we make based on our risk temperament, our own funky logic and circumstances, will make this our own personal path within real estate investing.

I hope you'll not only come along for the ride, but I also hope you'll  share with us your own ideas and experiences. As a little sneak peak for the next post, it will probably deal with increasing our Home Equity Line of Credit.
