New Law to Close Gender Gap Pay Enacted in California

Today, Gov. Jerry Brown enacted AB 168 (Section 432.3 of the California Labor Code), in an effort to further close the gender gap. According to the new legislation an employer is prohibited from seeking salary history information about an applicant for employment and requires an employer, upon reasonable request, to provide the pay scale for a position to an applicant for employment.
