Hi all -

Curious to hear if anyone has experience house hacking in San Diego, CA!

I'm hoping to move down there around this time next year and also start my real estate investment journey with a house hack. Hope to hear about any and all advice/perspectives/experiences of others who have done something similar.

Excited to make some connections!

Hi Ryan,

I just purchased my first home in the La Mesa/Spring Valley area of San Diego. It's a 3 bedroom / 3 bathroom SFR which has been perfect for house hacking - everyone has their own bed/bathroom and one room has a private entrance. I rented out the smallest room for $1k/month and am renting the room with the private entrance through Airbnb. I received dozens of inquiries for the longer term room rental, and was booked through the end of August within days of posting the larger room on Airbnb. I think house hacking is the best strategy when starting out!
