How much $ is your mail campaign?

Hello BP Canada,

I am preparing to ramp up my marketing campaign, I am currently researching the most cost-effective printing and mailing companies.

For those who market via direct mail, I am interested to hear your experiences and input.

Each month I plan to send 5000+ letters & postcards direct in Winnipeg, MB. I am mailing the owners primary addresses that are on title, SFD, and MFD with blatant deferred maintenance, vacant buildings, undeveloped land and owners with reasonable equity in the property.

Here is my cost breakdown,

Postcards: The lowest price I found thus far for custom postcards is VP, 5000 cards for $180 + 20% off coupon code, "THANKS20".

Stamps: Canada Post's 'best price' is .41 cents per piece for small business personalized mail.

Total: $2,194+

Yellow Letters: I'm waiting to hear back from inquiries sent to printing companies. Until now, I have printed, folded and sealed the letters myself.

Yellow Lined Paper: $131 ($15.75 per 600 sheets).

Ink: $207.

Envelopes: $150 ($1.5 per 50 pack).

Stamps: $2,050 (.41 cents per piece).

Total: $2,538+ (also add the hours spent printing and folding...)

Does anyone have a more cost-effective approach to their mail campaigns?

Thanks!

Hi Douglas,

I currently do both, I will source a few numbers through white pages and 411, although, in Canada, it is more difficult to get phone numbers since the privacy laws are stronger compared to the US. Many people request to be private from the public directories and/or dropped their landlines.  Emails are a tad harder since I typically need to establish contact first before I can get an email address, very few can be found online.

Spencer:

Have you looked into Canada Posts, flyer/advert mail delivery options?  You can target by postal code and the rates are less than general post.
