Direct mail handwritten letters

I've spent a lot of my time handwriting letters recently and it's making me think, would it really make that much of a difference to just photo copy the same letter and fill in the different addresses and names? Other wise i'll just start paying my roommates about $1 a letter to handwrite them for me. Any thoughts?
