How to receive alerts/emails on certain properties

Hi,

I was curious if any real estate website could send me an alert via text message or email when a property hits the market that fits the criteria that I am looking for?

The goal is to save time searching for properties and only analyze the properties that fit my particular criteria.

Just as an example, I only want properties that meet a target price per square foot in a certain city.

The MLS website for the city that you're interested in should be able to do that for you. Or you can contact a local Realtor and they can do the same.

Yes, it's on MLS. You either need to be an agent or work with one.

Is there another resource beside the MLS that can do the same thing?

If I understand correctly, Zillow, Trulia, and others can do similar things, but they get their information from the MLS, and so, your notification from them may not be as timely as that from an agent directly. Time lost could be a deal lost.
