Is Zillow Zestimate Accurate? What's your opinion?

I have my own opinions about Zillow's accuracy for valuing property. But I want to know yours. It's one of the most visited sites online and so many people trust their values because it's strong brand online.

If you use Zillow in your investing, how do you use it? What do you, like or dislike about it? I also want you know your opinion about how they are affecting investors now that they are buying houses or your opinion on how they are affecting Realtors.

The non-disclosure states that I know about (who's sold prices are not public record) are Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri (some counties), Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. So Zillow has no sold prices there (and none of the other AVM's do either).

In my area, Zillow is horribly inaccurate. This is a house we own.

It was last listed for $23,000 and we paid less than that. When we finish fixing it up, we'll be overjoyed if we get $50k, and we've put a lot of work into it.

Get Realtor comps to be sure. They'll be much more accurate.
