Anyone heard of AstroFlipping?

Has anyone heard of astroflipping? Just watched the video by Josiah. Curious if anyone has done one of the 45 minute phone calls. Any thoughts on this or knowledge of this are welcome. 80 plus deals a month seems to good to be true.

@Matt Mcnulty Josiah is doing nothing new, AstroFliping is just a marketing buzzword to get people to look at the specific technology product he's pushing, his App. Using the word "Flipping" will not get people like you to give him your email address to see the video while also building his email list, the additional step in this is getting registered users to sign up for the App. We are taught this strategy in Business school, It looks like he's either trying to get enough registered users to get Series A funding, or he's already received a small Series A fund and is now trying to beat his obligated milestones in order to get Series B funding. A typical hurdle for obtaining Series B funding is to achieve a large boost in registered users for your App.

When I attend the larger REI conventions I see many companies pushing this concept of Wholesaling via an App or as you've been pitched to as "AstroFlipping". Most of the larger late night TV "We Buy Houses" commercial companies have all moved into this space as well, some have terrible Apps because they aren't really tech savvy and didn't want to spend the money, others really don't understand how important the algorithms are in the ingenuity of their platforms.

What he's trying to do is capture the portion of the flipping market that isn't aware of the latest use of technology products in the REI industry. There are Real Estate tech companies that have created Apps that do what traditional wholesalers use to do with Direct mail campaigns and Cold calling from list.

Yes that is the gist of it. Basically working with other wholesalers in your area helping them either acquire or sell properties to a buyer where you are in the middle of the transaction for a fee. It is basically co wholesaling on steroids. I personally only took the program to learn more about deal acquisition because i would like to focus on buy and hold investments not as much on wholesaling as I am not certain on the legalities of it.

    @Andrew Letendre,

I can't help but think this sounds a little too good to be true. An 18 year old just happened to have $7,000-$9,000 sitting around to throw at a program that is so little known? Especially for someone who has "not been in the real estate game long" as you mentioned. Then that same 18 year old got a deal done in 3 weeks? You said the wholesaling strategy isn't even discussed until week 3, so in theory you would not have even understood the strategy by week 3?

That old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" feels like it might apply here.

    @Brad Piper

I understand where you are coming from, firstly when I got the course it only cost me 1k because I got a special deal for Christmas where you put 1k down and then pay the rest as a monthly membership. I finished all of the content very fast and ended up cancelling after first month so it only cost me 1k to take the course. The course is separated in 6 week training but i did it all within 2 weeks as they let you unlock the course if you finish the previous week. Knowing that the normal price is 7k now I am not sure if I would pay that full amount personally but the content is pretty good.

That's fair Andrew! Sounds like you got an awesome deal on the program, evidently they are not offering anything like that any more haha.

yea I kinda got lucky, right time right place I guess. I definitely didn’t have more then a couple grand to spend on a course so I figured I could try to utilize what I got and take advantage of the offer.

@Drew L. thanks for the insight.  Why did you say you were a member of Astroflipping at the beginning of your first post about it?

@Tracy D. Garrett-Numa, I recently left the program late in December. I was on a month to month membership and cancelled after the first month due to lack of finances. I was able to get in with a plan on 1k mo and was able to get through the course.

@Drew L. , o.k. the confusion for most was that you said you were a member and then you said you were not a part of the company.. I guess what you meant was you were as a student.  I understand now.  Did you go on to run your own astroflipping business?  What business are you currently doing?

@Tracy D. Garrett-Numa Yes i did mean I was a student, the message didn't really come across correctly in the post haha. While I think the astroflipping/wholesaling model is good for new investors and anyone who is interested in wholesaling, I personally only took the course to learn more about deal acquisition. I don't want to be a wholesaler but a passive investor in rentals, BRRR ETC. Right now i'm trying to work with local investors in my area to grow my portfolio in the rental space.

@Drew L., I am a Buy and Hold myself because i want to build generational wealth however, I recently decided to wholesale so I can build more cash to help with the purchasing of more rental properties and also to cut out the middle man on the deals i want to keep for myself and add to my portfolio using the Brrr strategy as well.   Wholesaling can be very profitable. There is so many people out there selling these courses and never following through as promised or giving you just enough of information to sell you their advance course which will get you what they didn't give you in the original course.  Why not teach folks all they need in the first one for one price so they can go on and start their own business without paying you more money.  Its enough money and houses distressed and otherwise out there for anyone to build wealth without gauging folks on courses.  Thats my .02 on the matter.  Good luck to you in all your endeavors.

@Tracy D. Garrett-Numa I completely I agree, I am not a fan of companies charging crazy amount for courses as you can easily use that money to put a downpayment on a house yourself. Luckily I was able to get this one for a special deal around Christmas. This is one of the only courses I took, the rest being books which I find very helpful. I think as long as you have a local mentor and read some books you should be good. Im not a huge fan of wholesaling because of the legalities and laws in my area.

If you have any more questions about the course, Jeff Taylor from the facebook group is really helpful as well.

This week I had a call with one of the guys from Atroflipping and he was great to speak with. The call is to see if you would be a good fit to work with them. As stated above the cost of the course was $5,800 but they were also willing to work with me and spread that out somehow but wanted to make sure I had enough skin in the game. I watched several interviews of the owners of KeyGlee and learned from some of the content and they seem like great place.

I did ask them if they would let me speak to a previous student or someone who is currently in their course and that was not an option. For me that was a tough one to get over. They did send me video testimonials of other students though.

I did not sign up for the course. If the price tag was more reasonable I would have signed up even if I had some questions about the entire deal but at that price tag I'd expect more assurance at the front end.

    Hope this helps.

@Josh Montavon I don’t know anything about astroflipping or these expensive courses Josiah is offering. I have worked with KeyGlee in the past and would recommend them.

I'm reading Josiah's book now and I like it. It starts off slow, a lot of talk about trusting in the lord and doing business in an honest way. I'm like 60% through and it has gotten better but there are like, no wholesaling strategies. It's all about doing business the right way. For example, if someone wants to blow steam and bite your head off, don't let that affect how you live your life, just carry on as a happy go-getter. Stuff, like that. It's a lot of hoopla and self-help stuff but not much wholesaling tactics, at least thus far. But, the last few nights of reading I have enjoyed it. It's titled Wholesale Abundance.

@Brett Tvenge Hi, I am sure that working with or learning from Josiah/KeyGlee would be great and others will highly recommend them.  However, I experienced what @Daniel Shaffer stated above as far as the cost and training. It sounds like a really good class but there was also another class that cost a little more to give you more of what you need to be as successful as KeyGlee. As i stated before, "Why not teach folks all they need in the first one for one price so they can go on and start their own business without paying you more money. It's enough money and houses distressed and otherwise out there for anyone to build wealth and then some." I would like to join the training but not for the price and yes it would be more motivating if i could talk to someone who is actually going through the training or has finished it.

@Jeffrey Grieshop There are some very good wholesaling/investing books out there. It doesnt sound like you are reading one of them lol. There are a lot of books written by BP members that have been really good. Finding and funding great deals, the book on negotiation. Both of those arent explicitly about wholesaling but they walk you through how to find deals which is 70% of wholesaling.

I'm looking into this myself but I was curious about the "60-80" deals that Miah, the rep I talked to last week, said that their TEAM was doing per month. So the team is the same team that does KeyGlee and the 60-80 deals are the number that KeyGlee is doing with a team of ten. If these numbers are true, that's still a really good number. Basically, 6-8 deals per person.

And Astroflipping is simply the BRAND of the course/group. It's not necessarily a new type of wholesaling.

What does look different is that, it's my understanding and I'm still investigating, they have certain criteria that they show you to search for deals. When you find these deals and get them under contract you become the 1st wholesaler. Then the contract will automatically be bought by a 2nd wholesaler (KeyGlee?) and automatically sold to institutional investors.

You as the 1st wholesaler gets to keep 60% and the 2nd wholesaler gets to keep 40%. Honestly, I'd love to be the 2nd wholesaler in this strategy but, of course, I don't have the experience or connections.

I'm looking into this myself because I'm deciding which real estate avenue I would like to take. So, that's why I'm researching Astroflipping and came across your post.

One thing I would suggest with your quote here is that asking for a referral to speak to a student or client really doesn't help. I get why you want to ask but after all, they're just going to give you the name and number of someone that will speak highly of them. That could be 1 person out of a 100.

But, checking them out on places like BP is a good move and leads me to ask... did you sign up? If so, what's your experience been so far?

    Thanks!

I did not sign up for the Astro flipping program. I ended up joining another group that is based off of a software program called REISift. Tyler Austin runs it and there is an active group of people investing in real estate. We have a weekly Mastermind call where we can ask questions about things we are needing help with and there is always a topic being taught. Cost is $49 a month. Check out the website https://www.reisift.io/ and his YouTube channel https://m.youtube.com/channel/... I’d highly recommend it there is so much good information in there.

@Daniel Shaffer thank you for recommending Tyler's YT channel! I have been watching his videos and they are great. No fluff, all content. Enjoying them very much. Did you also buy his training course? I am curious to hear how good it is.

@Brenda Allen I did not buy the training course but did sign up to use the software REISift. There is ton's of content in just doing that and as you've seen there is a lot of good information on the Youtube channel. Yeah no fluff but he can sometimes get a little long winded.

I'd recommend it but it has to be right for you.

@Daniel Shaffer Thanks for the reference. I'm going to check it out tomorrow when my brain is fresh. I do like that he has a Youtube channel because that makes it a little easier to determine if they know what they're talking about or whether they're full of crap. I don't mind paying thousands for training if it's worth it because I have my own business and time is valuable.

@Brenda Allen @Daniel Shaffer I did Tyler's 14 Day Challenge Course (which goes a month if you stick with it). It was totally worth the $100 to me. Install a playback control add on to your browser and watch at 2x speed if it's ever too long winded. :-)

Yes the auto lead gen challenge was awesome. I did it back in July. It is definitely a challenge as well. One of the best $100 I ever spent.
