Once you get settled, I would love to join the meeting as well (whether virtual or in-person). I have a portfolio of SFR out of state, but I am looking to start doing some deals on LI and want to build my network up here.

Please let me know as well if you are starting a group for people on Long Island.  I have also just started a new Meetup group on Long Island, Real Estate Rocks. I’ve joined some of these before & they often feel like sales pitches or marketing ploys, but I won’t be pumping people for information or trying to make a mailing list or any of that. This one will be informal & on Zoom to start but I’d like it to be in person once things normalize.

Our first event may be geared toward beginners but I’d like to have discussions at all levels & all different topics.

It will only be 40 minutes long max, because that’s what my Zoom account is set up for.

We have a local networking group on Long Island, we meet in person every month & it's a good place to get to know people & get referrals. We plan to meet in January, will post it on Bigger Pockets Events once the place & time are set.

LIREIA hosts at least one meet-up event every month on Long Island.  We also do zoom calls and workshops 4-5 times a month, and offer different programs for both beginner and experienced investors.

@Christopher Corso  Christopher, I completely agree that there are a lot of meetups that are really thinly veiled sales pitches.  For that reason (& other reasons like no one was meeting even online), I started Real Estate Rocks.  I don't allow any infomercial-style sales pitches at our meetings 

(ok, it might not be that bad but I just imagine some events being like an informercial!)

There is a $5.00 contribution which you can do in cash at the meeting as well, it doesn't come close to covering the cost of the space but I may be able to get another space shortly.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me directly if you like.
