@Donald Hendricks - I take it you meant that as a complement, but I don't see that label as something I ever want. (I'm not insulted - don't worry) BiggerPockets was created as a place where people could go to learn from everyone other than the self-anointed gurus. When I started BP, there was nowhere online that you could go to get educational content that wasn't getting kickbacks from the gurus. We changed that . . .

There are plenty of wise real estate investors who coach and teach others, but I'd never label them a guru and I know they wouldn't want to scarlet letter either.

@Steve Babiak - As you well know, BiggerPockets provides education and content free to all users via our forums, articles, member blogs, BiggerPockets Blog, and BiggerPockets Podcast. Alongside the free content, networking, and other features available free, members can pay to access Software as a Service (SaaS) features if they want to. What we offer to paying users is no different than Dropbox, Mint.com, LinkedIn, Google, and hundreds of other credible companies - tools and services. I fail to see any connection with BiggerPockets and the gurus except that many are now branching out into creating expensive membership sites alongside their $997 courses and $25,000+ mentoring.

Now now.... Let's not try and make this into some kind of threat, when clearly it is NOT.
