Painting Vinyl Siding

Anybody ever try painting a house with all vinyl siding/trim?

When I first looked into this a couple years ago, I was told not to try it, but these days, I've had several people (including several painters I respect and people who work at Sherwin Williams) that with the right type of paint, not only will the finished product look good, but the paint should last for at least 10 years without cracking or peeling.

Any thoughts or experiences with painting vinyl siding?

Thanks!
