Before and After Pictures

Hmm, wasn't sure where to put this post. Sorry if i picked the wrong area. Anyway, I thought I'd share our before and after pictures of the kitchen in our REO that we purchased. I think it's really looking great! The cost for the cabinets, counters, fridge and stove all came to appx $1100. We bought the unfinished cabinets at Home Depot on clearance. I did look on Craigslist to see if we could find a used set in great shape but couldn't find anything so had to buy new. All we have left in there is to put some trim around the window over the sink and a section of trim wood between the cabinets there at the top over the sink.

P.S. Hubby and his freind have been working on this house. Almost every night. If we get another one that needs this amount of work he's going to hire contractors. It's just way too time consuming and I think I've seen him for maybe 8 hours in the last month

Kitchen Before (completely gutted)

Very nice! Is this a rental or are you selling it?

Hi Mike,

It's going to be a rental. Although we would also consider selling on lease option if the right party comes along (:

cabinets and floors look great! i love it!

not to be too picky, but i am a fan of matching appliances (colorwise). even if it is a rental. i think it shows so much better.

nice job!

Josh,

Me too! However we bought the stove and fridge from a friend and his brother for $75 total. So couldn't pass that up. If one goes out eventually I told hubby we'll try to find one that matches.

Good job, this reminds me of homes that I have built from the ground up a few years ago. It takes time and hard work, but sweat equity can be very rewarding.

It looks great!

I doubt too many people will notice this, but next time, on the 30" height wall cabinets install the knobs on the bottom corner, not the middle.
