Gaining Experience by Working for a Rehabbing Contractor?
The idea dawned on me tonight that perhaps a good way to gain some exposure and get my feet wet in this lucrative business is to find work with a contractor that specializes in rehabbing properties. I think it would allow me to assess properties better, know if jobs are being done right, help me learn how to estimate total repair costs, know when something needs* to be done due to the former condition being dangerous and/or illegal, learn what health hazards to look for, and get first hand experience at what all is involved in construction. I have an intuitive feeling this would be a great avenue to take.
So how can I find work in this field? Can I find work that specializes in rehabbing properties? Am I wrong thinking this is a great way to learn the ropes of the REI business? Is there a better way?
Any and all insight is highly appreciated. You have my thanks in advance.
Thanks,
Connor S. Francis
