Chicago Short Term Rental Regulations

Hello Chicago investor folks,

I am curious to see what anyone's experience has been with getting licensed for legal STR (Airbnb) units in Chicago? If the building has 4 or less units, how was the process of seeking a commissioner's adjustment for non-owner occupied units? If the building has 5 or more units, what was it like navigating that process?

The more recent the experience, whether successful or unsuccesful, the better as I see they've tightened the screws a couple times in the past year or so.

Thanks!

@Jacob Lyons - Process is pretty simple here in Chicago like @Henry Lazerow mentioned.  That hassle in my opinion is actually getting it staged properly and implementing all the necessary systems to provide an awesome product.

It took me about a full 6 months to get my AirBnB almost completely automated and now it's a breeze.

If you are in a decent location and have a great product your Airbnb will do well.
