The Chicago City Council is on its way to making major changes to residential rental laws that will hurt the market (Listen to the latest update here https://soundcloud.com/chicago...):

• Increase lease non-renewal notice requirement up to 120 days (4 months!) from the current 30-day requirement.
• Allow tenants much more time to stop eviction proceedings after months of non-payment.
• Further, the public was only provided 2 hours notice before this proposal was voted on in Committee.
