New investor In Clearwater, Florida
Hey everybody! I’m Ryan and I’m new to Clearwater Florida and in the process of buying a house down here with my girlfriend. I’m having something happen to me that I’ve never really had before and was hoping someone can help me get past it. I’m trying to start finding properties for myself instead of having to go through a wholesaler. Now I usually have no problem talking to people about real estate because I absolutely love it! Yet I’ve gotten myself so nervous to start calling people and knocking on doors that I can feel my heart ready to jump out of my chest. Has anyone else had to get over this? How did you do it? Thanks in advance!
Call reluctance happens. You just have to have a reason big enough to be bigger than not doing the calls.
Practice what you're going to say, and make your first call a softball. Also, be more conversational than sales and you'll have better conversations.
At the end of the day, you can only get better by doing.

Hey Ryan,
I hope that you off to a great start finding a place here. I wish I could say it was easy, but when you are in a new place and don't have the hometown advantage, knowing areas, pricing and sales as you did back home. It's hard. I hope that you are having some luck! If you have any questions please feel to reach out! It's always good to network!!! I was in your shoes not too long ago! Best of luck!!!!
Thanks guys! Yea it’s a lot but I’m just getting more comfortable being uncomfortable for now and stopping myself from worrying so much about being perfect.
@Ryan Gallagher sorry to say but rejection is inevitable. That being said that is a good thing. The first one will hurt but after the 10th or 100th, you will become more resilient. I would suggest start by calling the owners of the properties you are least interested in first. That way when you get to the properties you really want you will know what works and how to adapt. Now go make that first call!
@Wesley Davis Absolutely man! Made a bunch yesterday and will make a bunch more today!
