Newbie looking for due diligence stories
HI. I'm a brand-spankin new to BP and real estate investing and am excited to have found this platform to help me learn and get started. This is a new challenge for me, and while there is an overwhelmingly amount of "free" advice to absorb, it also serves as an excellent way to gain true insight from the diverse amount of experience from it's member community. That being said, I'd be curious to hear some of your due diligence stories from whatever past or present deals your are/were involved in. It doesn't matter the project, property type, asset class etc. - I know it's a rather broad spectrum. For example, I plan to start out with tax liens, but I assume in a general sense the same basic steps and principles apply. I know there are a zillion strategies that may or may not work for everybody- Ironically, I am a former law enforcement professional, so some of it is might be obvious and not that difficult to do/figure out. I'm not looking for any "trade secrets", guru shortcuts, or hand-holding exercises, but rather every day stories, in summary or step-by-step examples, highlighting successes, mistakes, challenges, time invested, personal insights, lessons learned, etc.--whatever aspects you'd be willing to share. I'm sure your stories will benefit both neophytes and veterans alike. I look forward to your feedback. Thanks & happy investing
