Montana New Guy Looking to Network
Hey all!
My wife and I just found this site a few weeks ago and I am blown away! What a wealth of information. I have been soaking up as much information as possible. My wife and I would like to get into REI to began building passive income. I'm wondering if there are any meetups in the Flathead Valley area that meet regularly? It would be great to meet up with and make connections with like minded people.

@Kendal Lamb has been organizing meetups. I'm hoping I can make the next one but, haven't actually participated yet. Exciting stuff that you and your wife are getting into REI! BiggerPockets is definitely a great resource.

Awesome, thanks for information everyone! Also... not that it matters... but my post title is a bit misleading. I'm actually a Montana native, just new to the real estate investing world. We are hoping to begin by investing locally, or at least in state, but that may be challenging given the mass exodus from the cities coming here driving prices up. Time will tell if we can find a deal where the math actually works.
@Neil DeZort welcome to the site! There's is a ton of information available out here and it always proves to be a great resource. As you begin the journey just continue to get educated. I think that's the most important thing you can do, as education helps alleviate fear, so you can be prepared to pull the trigger when the right deal comes along that meets your criteria. I look forward to meeting you at one of the local meetups!

It is so nice to see some folks here from the Flathead Valley! I'm also from Kalispell, however, recently been living in Bend, OR. WE still have a triplex in Kalispell but are wanting to get another MF unit that we can stay in AND can BE rented when we are not using it. Does anyone know any off-market deal finders in the valley that you recommend? Is there a Flathead RE meet-up?
