The Secret

I have been enjoying Rhonda Byrnes' " The Secret". The book is actually a collection of writings from Wallace Wattles, Bob Proctor, Charles Fillmore (of Unity fame) and many other greats from the human potential movement. The basic premise of the book focuses on the fact that successful people throughout history have used a secret to attain their success. The secret is the law of attraction. Basically the law says that the universe will respond to our desires if we only ask. One caveat is that the universe hears the subject of our sentence. So if we say "I don't want to be sick". We are drawing illness to ourselves. The correct thinking is to say "I am well". I have applied this to my real estate investing with phenomenal results just in the last few days. I have been affirming that I will help people, that I will work with very happy rehabbers and that good deals will come my way. Couple this with a lot of work and you're on your way! Before I read the book, I had read a number of reviews concerning the book by authors who just didn't get it. I'm very glad I went ahead and read the book. I recently viewed the DVD and found it a little tedious. Sort of like trying to figure a rehab with 20- five year olds in the room. The video is disjointed and skips around visually much like all tv ads these days which will not let your eye see any one thing for more than one second. It seems to me that avoiding all of the spastic, mixed messages is one of the primary points of the book. If you're more visually oriented, watch the video. If words move you profoundly, buy this book and wear it out. It's one to reread on a regular basis :wowie:
