New guy in the St. Petersburg/ Tampa area
Hi everyone! I am a beginner trying to find the best path for myself in real estate investing. I would like to make connections and build relationships that would allow me to learn and grow as a real estate investor.
I have been doing a lot of reading on here, listening to podcasts, and have recently started to attend a local REI meeting in St. Petersburg.
It is definitely overwhelming for a newbie to digest all of this information and actually take steps or take action, but I am doing my best to learn as much as I can.
Anyone here on BP investing in the Tampa/St. Pete area?
Hi Alex,
I'm also investing in your area, between St. Pete, Tampa and Orlando. I'd love to know what meeting you're going to in St. Pete. I actually live abroad, but I'll be in town next month and hope to meet up with others while I can.
I'm primarily a buy and holder, and look forward to seeing what direction you end up going.
Hi Alex. I'm in the same newbie boat you are right now, but on the other side of the state. It's nice that your already in the REI meetings happening in your area, cause mine has none that I'm aware of (and I've searched).

Amy Davidson I am going to a small meetup in St. Peterburg around 30-40 people. I found it through the Tampa REIA website. Where about are you coming from abroad?

Thanks Brandon Turner! I have been reading the Kindle version you guys recently released, it has definitely been of help. Also the podcasts and your Youtube videos are great learning tools too.
I am currently working on finding a mentor in the area, I feel that I have skills and/or time to offer in exchange for being taught or shown the ropes. I am hoping I can connect with someone here at BP or at a REI meeting that would be willing to educate.
Thanks again for putting this together as a sort of roadmap for those wanting to turn a dream into reality!

Welcome to BP Alex Gell. I'm also new to the site and live in north Pinellas county. I work evenings and haven't been able to make it to one of the local REIA meetings yet, what was your impression of the St Pete group?
Yes Shawn Yesner Larry's group meeting.
Brian Hunter my impression of the REI meeting was pretty good, didn't know what to expect at first but it was interesting. It seemed like real life Monopoly where people had properties for sale or trade etc. Learned a few new vocabulary terms I'd never heard of and saw some of the bigger players in the local market.
