New to Ventura County

Hello!

My name is Seth Dailey and my family and I just moved to Ventura, CA. I’m looking to connect with like minded people - those passionate about real estate and with solid integrity. I’ve got a background in real estate as a SF buy and hold investor, licensed broker, licensed home inspector, and also worked in the trades, and am currently working on getting my first small apartment under contract in the Midwest. I’m wanting to build community and connections locally as well - Ventura and also from Santa Barbara to Ojai to Oxnard, etc.

Let me know if you’d like to connect and a drink or lunch is on me!

-Seth

@Seth Dailey Welcome to Ventura County!

I am a licensed agent / investor and live and work out of Camarillo.

I am always on the hunt for any local deals and looking to connect with other local investors.

Connections request has been sent your way. Cheers

@Seth Dailey Hey Seth! Welcome to the area. We moved to Ojai a few months ago from LA. I’m a licensed realtor and own a couple investment properties, but am mostly home with my 3 year old daughter these days. Hoping to continue learning and expanding as an investor!

    @Seth Dailey

Nice to meet you all! Looks like there are quite a few of us in the Ventura area, we should start having meetups to help each other, to learn, and to grow!
Would any of you be interested in that?

@Raleigh Mendez Yeah, I agree that we should.  Masks on and socially distanced for sure, but faces (though we have pictures here) with names is always good.  Plus, according to his first thread on this forum page, drinks are on Seth!  (I'm just teasing)

@Clayton Plummer Yes, drinks are on me!

@Raleigh Mendez Yes, let's have a mini meetup! @Robyn Joy @Mike Robb and anyone else interested - PM me and let's get something on the calendar. If anyone feels more comfortable connecting over FaceTime/Zoom or just one on one in a public space, let me know - that works just as well!

@Seth Dailey and @Raleigh Mendez - Made West Brewery in Ventura (specifically the taproom on Donlon) is always good.  Their taproom doesn't have the best acoustics though.  It gets really noisy and hard to hear your neighbor when it's pumping.  They have regular food trucks.

Topa Topa is also a personal favorite.  They have two locations in Ventura:  The original one next to Ventura Surf Shop on Thompson, as well as their head quarters over off of Market (it's on Colt St).  The one up in Ojai is really nice, especially if it's a rainy day.  The Ojai one has a dedicated restaurant and the food is excellent.  The two Ventura ones have food trucks (99% of the time also amazing food).

As far as food trucks, my personal favorite around here is Mom&Pops Tacos.  They were doing a pretty standard Taco Tuesday at the Topa on Thompson (how's that for alliteration?) before COVID.  And then I think they would be at the Made West on Donlon that following Thursday.  Not sure what the schedule is now with COVID.

Hello All! My husband and I moved to Ojai a year ago. We have one rental property, and are actively looking to expand. We’d love to connect through a meet up, in-person or Zoom both work for us.

@Erin Gerken is your rental in the Oaji market or elsewhere? Where are you looking to acquire more rentals?

@Mike Robb Our rental property is back East in NY, where we moved from. We are looking to invest locally now that we’re here.

    Hey all.

@Jeff Greenberg runs a local REIA in Thousand Oaks. Not sure what the status of the meetup is since COVID though. This is the only local one I know of that has been consistently running for years (pre-COVID). A lot of other ones meet for a year or two and then eventually fall apart.

Here is the link on meetup.com. Not sure if links are allowed or not.

To back up what @Cornelius Charles said, I'm part of the VCREIC.  The MeetUp page shows that Lloyd Segal is the current organizer.  Maybe Jeff passed it over to Lloyd, not sure.

Either way, they are currently doing Zoom meetings due to COVID.  It's typically once per month.  February's meeting is scheduled for the 11th.
