Brand Spankin' New Investor in Miami
Hi there!
My name is Mami Yamaguchi. That's right, Mami like in Spanish, only its a very Japanese name! I am Japanese born, raised in South Orange County, California, and have been living in Miami for 4 years.
To be absolutely upfront I am completely new to real estate and I am completely new in investing. But this is something I have been interested in for awhile now...only I didn't really know I was, or did I ever think this was something Id take seriously enough to start educating myself in.
Most of my 4 years in Miami I have spent in the midtown/wynwood districts, and despite my lack of real real estate/investment knowledge, I was vigilantly aware of the real estate around me, and the money pouring in for the real estate around me. Ive watched over the past 4 years as taxis (before Uber!) were literally too afraid to approach the Wynwood area before to it becoming a booming and blossoming art hub full of fresh tourists. Ive watched the areas gentrify rapidly before my eyes, and how the gentrification is growing north. And without fully understanding, being aware of the money being moved through all the real estates in the area. Watching Brickell explode, and the rest of Miami growing rapidly. However I dismissed the potential of what I saw around me, and never thought to be a part of the industry, as I am first and foremost an artist, and because I had simply and unfortunately written myself off as "not an investor" and having "too little money" to ever play or even understand the game.
It was only hardly 1 month go someone actually handed me, "The Millionaire Real Estate Investor", and for the first time, I was completely empowered that I actually may have it within me to take the steps to learn what it takes to become a successful investor.
I have been lurking passively for a month, and now I am getting itchy and hungry to start becoming a more visible member of the BP community as well as to actively start making moves to make bigger leaps in my investment education and to reach out and connect with others who may help me establish my networks and connections.
My goals are big. And my dreams are getting even bigger. Goals and dreams 4 years ago, let alone 1 month ago, that seemed laughable to even have. I am looking to meet with people with the same hungry appetite for success and growth and who are willing to share with me their experiences of their investment journeys.
