Hey everyone! I just turned Pro today! Hopefully all is well. So I am a Newbie when it comes to Real Estate investing. First things first, I am not looking for a "get rich quick" thing. I know it would take time, there would be ups and downs and so on. I recently got interested into Real Estate Investing on my first year of college ( still attending ) when a friend recommended RE investing to me and told me the perks of it. I decided that today I was going to go all out. Anyways I don't want to get of track here. I am looking to get into Multifamily investing, specifically residential ( 2-4 units ). I am currently reading "Investing in Duplexes, Triplexes and Quads" by Larry B. Loftis, and that book is extremely interesting to me. Another book I read was Rich Dad Poor Dad ( don't get me started ) and CashFlow Quadrant (not that one either ) . I heard of the Millionaire Real Estate investor as well and I am going to read that one next. There are so many things I want to do with my life I could talk all day here. Any ways please share your opinions on these books ( I am unbiased ). If there is any thing I could do, you can let me know, I am working a part-time job, so I got some money, and some free time, like paint a house, recommend books, network, talk about life etc. I would be more than glad. I don't care what position I am in, its not gonna stop me from achieving what I want and others want! If you are in NYC lets see if we could network a bit, like go to a local coffee shop or something. I am willing to do this. I just want to get involved in the aspects of RE, especially when that same friend is gonna buy a property this summer in NJ! Once again I am looking to network as much as I can and help as much as I can! I am literally on BP every single day. I know this is a long response, but I just can help but write a lot ( is that a bad thing? ) So you can't miss me haha:)
Best to everyone and looking forward to a response
Omar

Welcome! I love your enthusiasm and willingness to learn and help out to get experience :-)
There's a Bronx Meetup tonight at 6pm. If you can make it that would be a great place to start networking http://www.meetup.com/The-Bronx-Real-Estate-Network/events/229411845/
@Omar Sanchez.... Welcome to the BP. Community!!!! You are on the right track read....listen to the podcasts....read the forums....network.... ask questions, and then repeat. There is a lot of info and help on the BP website. There is a meet up tonight at Billy's Sports Bar tonight located on 161 st between Jerome and Gerard, it is $10.
Hello @Omar Sanchez and welcome to BP. BP is a great site to connect with other real estate investors both new and old alike. I wish you all the best. You are not alone in your real estate ambition.
I also found the Larry Loftis book on Duplexes, Triplexes and Quads to be a valuable read. I used a lot of the knowledge from that book (and reading BP) to do my first 4-Plex deal last year. Another one I like is Multi-Family Millions by David Lindahl, it is focused more on larger multi-family properties but still a lot of useful info that relates also to 2-4 unit properties, especially the section on re-positioning properties was interesting to me. Best wishes for your investing future-
Welcome @Omar Sanchez ! You have found the right place, BP is just loaded with valuable information on real estate. I love your book choices, they are all great reads. You may want to consider adding some Tony Robbins into your mix of education. I consider him to be my personal "Guru". I started listening to his work over 10 years ago, and I still do. I attribute much of my success to the principles of how he teaches us to "look" at things, treat people and handle circumstances. I simply can't say enough about the influence his work has had on me.
Stay focused, be consistent and I wish you the best of luck in your RE career!

Yes, Im on the 8th chapter and the book is very informational, as well as easy to read. The book is also a bit inspiring as it talks about how you can change the future by changing your mindset as well. "Multi-Family Millions?" Im gonna add that to my list! Gotta do some homework;) May I ask you? How did that deal go?
Best wishes for you as well
DREAM BIG!

Hey Deborah!.... Yea it can ( and is a bit overwhelming ) at times. I don't know where to start lol. Tony Robbins, He is something else ( in a good way ). I have his book "Money Master the Game" its a good read. I heard about other ones from him, but I have not read them yet. He has been changing my mindset when it comes to life in general. Exactly! He changes the way you perceive life. Its like I have a fire lit up in side of me and other people as well. Have you heard of Bob Proctor, and Zig Ziglar? They are awesome!
I would definitely keep my mind on track Thanks!
Stay awesome!

Hey Lisa! Thanks for the Welcome!
@Omar Sanchez Yes, I agree the Loftis book is good motivation to get out do a deal. That deal went well, it's a 4-Plex in Colorado Springs. It's fully occupied and cash-flowing so I am happy with the deal.
