Hello! I'm Michelle.
I have finally activated my BiggerPockets account, I have been listening to the podcasts here on Youtube for a while. I am 22 years old, and am struggling at the end of my college career.
I am currently considering a job in real estate (admin) to give me some income while I attempt to become involved in investment. I think it may be a good move for me instead of racking up more debt in college.
I hope to become active in the community here, and to be able to learn a lot from everyone!

Locate and attend 3 different local REIA club meetings great place to meet people gather resources and info. Here you will meet wholesalers who provide deals and rehabbers (cash buyers). Find them through Google and meetup.com
Two Great reads, I bought both J. Scott The Book on Flipping Houses, The Book on Estimating ReHab Costs http://www.biggerpockets.com/flippingbook
You might consider Niche or Specialized Housing like student housing. Rents can be 2-4 times more. Remember you don't have to own a property to control it. Take a good look at student housing.
Download BP’s newest book here some good due diligence in Chapter 10. Real Estate Rewind Starting over
Good Luck

Hi Michelle,
This is a great time in your life to set your foundation of knowledge and networking. Not sure what you mean by struggling at the end but I assume if your 22 your pretty close to graduating. Finish that. Nothing more useless than paying back student loans for 2/3 of a degree.
Being in college (while you may disagree now) gives you a huge advantage of having a lot of TIME. Take advantage of that. By being on here you are already more forward thinking than most of your peers (myself included at that age.) Carry a STRICT budget when it comes to your time and money. Do not waste either.
Good luck out there! Jim
Hi @Michelle Wardand welcome to BP!
Along with the many great recommendations that @Paul Timminsrecommended I would also recommend the Free Course under Education. Great overview of RE investing. In fact, most of what you need to know to get started can be found here on BP. So, don't through money away on gurus.
Wish you all the best as you start your journey to gain knowledge.
Hi and Welcome to Biggerpockets @Michelle Ward! Wish you all the best
Hi Michelle, welcome to BP.
This is a great place to learn. Make sure to listen to all the BP podcasts, read the articles on the main blog and be active in these forums to learn a ton very quickly about any topic in real estate you want to know more about.
This is also a great place to meet people that can be assets to your business. Lots of great connections all over but we also have a very strong and active contingent here in MA on here so make sure to find them (Set up some keyword alerts to find out about local topics) and get connected.
Besides doing that on here make sure to get out to some of the many local investor events we have. If you are in Medford you should check out the Boston Area REIA that meets in town, next meeting is the 17th. If you have a car and get out a little further I'd recommend the Black Diamond meeting in Waltham. Lots of other options as well north and south depending on where you want to try to focus.
@Michelle WardWelcome.
As an Admin in a RE office you can also begin going after your brokers license.
I would recommend just getting licensed while you are at it. I feel like most admin that I know eventually get licensed anyway.
Welcome Michelle Ward , tons of information here at BP! Make sure to stay up on the podcasts and don't be scared to reach out on the Forums! Vast majority of good input here! Goodluck!
