Newbie from Cambridge MA
Hello all,
I am at the very beginning of my real estate journey. Looking to get my real estate license this year and buy a multifamily next year.
Bigger Pockets is such a great resource. I'm hoping to learn as much as I can from all of you so I can avoid the many pitfalls of investing.
Cheers!
Tamara
Welcome to Bigger Pockets @Tamara Taylor
Thanks @Tamara Taylor for joining and I hope we past path in the days and weeks to come.
Hi Tamara, welcome to BP.
This is a great place to learn. Make sure to listen to all the BP podcasts, read the articles on the main blog and be active in these forums to learn a ton very quickly about any topic in real estate you want to know more about.
This is also a great place to meet people that can be assets to your business. Lots of great connections all over but we also have a very strong and active contingent here in MA on here so make sure to find them (Set up some keyword alerts to find out about local topics) and get connected.
Besides doing that on here make sure to get out to some of the many local investor events we have. I highly recommend checking out the Black Diamond meeting in Waltham. You can also look into the Boston Area REIA in Medford. Lots of options both north and south of the city from the Cape to Manchester NH.
Welcome to BP, Tamara, good luck in your journey!
Welcome @Tamara Taylor
Feel free to reach out if you have MA real estate license related questions. I have a great resource that I used to study prior to taking exam. Best of luck!
Thanks everyone. I have a long commute to work so I've had a chance to listen to about a dozen podcasts so far. Great stuff!
@Shaun Reilly I'm looking forward to checking out the local events.
@Brian Ortins I will definitely take you up on that.
@Tamara Taylor Welcome.
Someone else recently mentioned they were a Cantabrigian and were looking to start in RE. One response was that's like going to the Indy 500 and saying you want to get a Driver's license.
I don't think it's that bad but Cambridge is a super, if not uber hot RE market!
Cambridge can be very lucrative if you can find a good deal. I'm planning to buy in the suburbs first though.
@Tamara Taylor Welcome to BP! You are in good company as I am planning to get my RE license this year! Welcome to the journey!
