@Cedric Mcbride

I got married in Savannah! I love that town. All the little parks are wonderful. Of course we went touristy and did a ghost tour. Lots of fun.

This is pretty comprehensive, but somewhere to start looking for literature is the following:

http://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/4342/blog_posts...

Valuable info to share: participate on BP, ask/answer questions on the forums, get out there and meet with people, stay at it.

I am closing on my first buy/hold within the next week. There were times at the beginning where I asked myself why I was doing all this work. REI is a lot of work on the front end, but I needed to be patient and things started/continue to come together.

Take care, Chris

Welcome to Biggerpockets!

You came to the right place as there is tons of wealth and knowledge! We are buy and hold investors in single family homes. Specifically in class A investments so we can self manage. We also got started in renting out our home when we were transferred and the bug bit us.

There is so much great information out their in addition to the great ebooks produced by this website. You will love the diverse community and all the resources. There are tons of methods and niches with everyone having different specialities. So a great place is to look around the blogs, forums and listen to the podcasts for different niches. If you see a post you enjoy check out the persons signature. Many of us including myself talk about our strategies, styles, niches and business model on our website. So definitely check that out as it is an amazing additional resource. For example, my blog is about while working full time, buy and hold investing, 0% Down Rentals, Personal Properties turned rentals, Long distancing investing, self-managing 3,000+ miles away. Definitely list your blog or website in your signature, if you have one. Its a great additional networking source.

Look forward to seeing and connecting with you around!

Welcome to Biggerpockets!

Nice to Meet You!  This website is an amazing source of information. The ONLY thing everyone agree on is they invest in real estate. Beyond that everyone has very different views and philosophies. While there are tons of great books in the the resources. This site is a library of books if you just take time to notice all the nooks and cranies.

Don't forget to check out the blogs and podcasts. Participating in the forum is a great way to network, learn and give back. Another GREAT resource is everyone's signature. MANY of us, including myself have put together a blog/website about our niche, strategy and business model. Think of them as "free" books. These are GREAT free resources too!

Look forward to seeing you around! Please feel free to pm me if I can help!

@Cedric Mcbride

Welcome to the community! If you are purely looking for education, I swear by the podcasts and then reading the books suggested in each podcast. Because I drive a lot, I'm an audiobook guy. Good luck
