Connecticut Investors,
Firstly, I would like to give a big thanks to @Bill Couture for presenting on the fly last meet-up, and rocking it, after a no show presenter. He did an incredible job, and shared with us a wealth of information about commercial lending, drawing on his experiences as both an investor and commercial loan officer.
We have confirmed with our speaker, Ben Howarth, and will be meeting at @Kit Crowne's office on November the 15th at 6:00pm. Ben is a financial planner who is going to come in to speak to us about the role that real estate can have on your financial future and creative ways to finance deals. After his presentation we will have quick introductions before moving on to the networking portion of the meet-up.
Please note that we are changing things up a bit, and will be meeting on the third Tuesday of November as to not compete with election day.
I am looking forward to another motivating and educational meeting, and I hope to see you there.
All investors and aspiring investors are welcome to attend.
-Jacob
Can't make tonight but interested in the next meeting. Thx
here I am sitting in the wrong parking lot...darn. enjoy it folks
Hi Everyone, I'm new to Biggerpockets and RE Investing in general and live in the Hartford, CT area. I would love to attend the next meeting and am interested in hearing if any buy and hold investors are able to make the cash flow numbers work here in Central CT. I'm actually traveling to Cleveland soon to look at some properties because it seems the numbers work better in the Midwest. Obviously, I'd prefer to invest locally though if possible.
Look forward to meeting you all.
Dave
hi @David Fierer! It is ABSOLUTELY possible to "make it" here with "buy and holds". Sure, you probably can't find a 50K house and rent it for 3K like you might be able to do in other areas, but there are some sweet deals if you are careful on what you buy. I just got a 4 family in East Hartford in late September. The numbers work really well for what I put into it. I work in Hartford and am originally from Windsor. Feel free to reach out.
My agent, @Rick Santasiere also just helped @Login George close on his first deal this summer. Reach out to Rick if you are looking for someone to help guide you through your first few deals!
@David Fierer. Welcome to BP, and congrats on taking steps to financial independence! If there is anything I can do to help you, please feel free to reach out any time. I have coffee/lunch meetings 3-4 times a week to see if I can help people and would be more than happy to with you. My contact info is out there or feel free to private message me. I look forward to meeting you at the next meetup!
