Hello BP. I have a question.

I just bought a condo, and I was planning to live there, but something came up, so I want to stay at my current residence and no longer go foward with living in my new condo. So my plan is to rent it out now. Can I do this with no issues? My friend told me i have to wait 6 months if i want to rent it, since it will become an investment. My new condo is in long beach California . Any info will be appreciated.

I got the condo with a conventional loan owner occupied. I closed in June.
