Credit score for tenants

Landlords,

  I want to help my tenants with their credit score issues and want to know if there is a program out there where paying rent can be factored in to their credit score.

Thanks.

I do believe that the three major credit bureaus will factor in rent payments IF you report it to them.

So it will be on you to figure out how to report it to them, and then to be consistent about it.

@Jerry Hill

I use Innago for our property management software, and the tenant can flip a switch to have their rent payments reported to the credit agencies.

Some other PM softwares may have this feature, but I've been very pleased with Innago so definitely check them out 👍

    Best to use PM software to handle this. Reporting directly to the bureaus is onerous.

    Do a search for "report rent to credit agency" and you'll find plenty of options. It should be paid for by the Tenant.

    Most major PM software handles this for you. You can also report directly to Experian. I did this many moons ago. It was a ton of data entry that I ultimately ended up having a remote team member do for me. Good luck & happy investing!

    @Jerry Hill We use Innago as well and they have a great feature that allows tenants to report their rent payments to credit bureaus. It's a free feature for tenants and we have several tenants actively using this feature. I would highly recommend.
