Second home lender - Durham, NC

Jamie Wheeler
Posted

Hey Folks, looking into using a second home mortgage for financing. Does anyone have recommendations for a lender they’ve used to do this in the Durham area?

Additionally, curious as to how that works if the house purchased currently has tenants in it. Any clarifications would be helpful.

Thanks all!

Hi Jamie,

Happy to help if you still have questions.  If you are purchasing the home as a second home, you must occupy the residence within 60 days to meet conventional (fannie mae / freddie mac) guidelines. So, those long term tenants must be moved out and you must plan on occupying the home for some part of the year.  Renting short term is allowed, again if your intentions are to occupy for periods of the year.

Feel free to reach out with any questions and I am happy to help!

    @Catherine Javier

    I have a few lenders that would do it for you.  I think Tom sent you one, but I'll double check.  If you need more, PM me.

    Hi @Stephanie P. Yes, we closed with Tom last March 2022.

    We are trying to plan for our next plan. He said David from Crescent.

    Hi there, I have a phenomenal lender recommendation in NC. FHA, 2nd home, PR, conventional, I recommend him to everyone and literally 4/5 end up doing business with him. PM me if you still need help!
