Renting out basement
Is anyone familiar with the rules of renting a basment in Jersey City, NJ? I currently have a duplex and looking to turn the basement into a rental. Just looking for some advice on if its worth it to convert the basement into a rental.

If you are looking to do it legally, you should contact the housing Dept. Renting it without approval could land you in big trouble if tenant complains or if there is a fire and your basement and tenant is injured. I wouldn't advise doing without proper approval and permit.
