New Construction with VA Loan

Hello all, 

My wife and I are looking to use our VA loan in the Portland and surrounding cities in Oregon. We have never used our VA loan before and we are looking to find a house with 4b/3b 1,750sqft with a decent back & front yard with no HOA. Currently we have been looking through Zillow and Realtor, but we have not found what we are looking for. The idea of a new construction has crossed our mind but we do not really have any idea on how that process would go. If anyone has any information or can refer me to resources, I would greatly appreciate it!!!
