Zillow Rental Mngr - spamming LLs?

I have noticed when I use Zillow to post vacancies that I inevitably get at least one request for a Zillow application per listing.  These requesters never respond back when I engage them and they usually have super fake sounding names/details. .   My intuition tells me this is Zillow spamming LLs to get us to use there online application.  When I asked a Zillow CS person they denied it happens

is anyone else getting these types of requests??

@Mary M. I have the same experience. This is how to say you got a lead and they continue to take that $9.99/week

@Mary M.

Can not confirm, it will be tough to prove. I recommend using apartments.com, Zumper, Facebook market place, and cozy.co.

@Marc Rice Zillow has been the best source for getting tenants. Facebook is a complete flop (no shows, have never rented to anyone responding from there etc) have not used Apartments.com yet but not having any luck getting apartments.com to give me access to the online control of the buildings I own)
