Is HUD reliable on foreclosure listings?
I was looking through listings on HUD for foreclosures and came across a listing that I'd snatch up right now, but other sites show it was sold in 2015. Is HUD's foreclosure listings up to date?
Hudhomestore.com is the official HUD site and all active Hud homes appear on that site. No other site will have accurate information

Thanks appreciate the response
Not sure what your market is like but here in DFW area we see very few HUD foreclosures go to investors. Most seem to get snatched up in the Owner/Occupant exclusive period...as do the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac foreclosures...if they make it through that initial period they're normally in tough shape.
Sometimes HUD Homes will show up on online auctions. I saw one on auction.com where the numbers went too high. Apparently it did not close, because the same home showed up on hudhomestore a few months later. This time the pricing was realistic, but it sold to an owner-occupant during the exclusive listing period.
Homes may show up on auction sites before they become HUD homes. Before the lender than foreclosed places a claim with HUD they may list on an auction site. i am seeing this happen more and more often. Once the claim is filed and is transferred to HUD it must go thru the process whereas it must be offered first to owner occupants. Occasionally, HUD inventory that has been on the market in excess of 90 days will again appear on auction sites such as Hudson and Marshall
