Self Storage - Wine Storage

Hello,

I am currently in the beginning stages of building my first SS facility.  Feasibility study is done, we have been in contact with architects and GCs and are currently working with the town to iron out all the permits etc.

I am looking into offering wine storage in my facility.  Has anyone here had any experience with offering wine storage?  Any thoughts on it, both positive and negative.

Thanks.

@Steve Cheslock wine storage is a popular niche among self storage facilities here in the Carolinas.  I haven't had any experience with it personally, but I have some contacts at Bee Safe, a brand based in Greensboro, NC and focused on climate-controlled storage facilities in retail locations.  I mention it because the brand has been very successful and is growing rapidly.  Good luck!

Hello,

@Charlie McCurry Thanks for the response, I appreciate it.  We are mainly focusing on climate controlled facilities and wine storage is something that is still scarce in our market so we think it may worth looking into.  If you could pass along those contacts I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

@Steve Cheslock I wonder how you check if a market is already saturated regarding wine storage business? There are many self storage facilities in DFW and I am thinking maybe wine storage could have opportunity.

Curious how this all paned out for you.  I see it's 7 years ago..  Any experience care to share regarding wine storage?
