Best Way to Find Massachusetts Contractors?

Danny Mak

I am about to make my first home purchase in Lowell, Massachusetts. The home I am looking at needs some work before I think it is move-in ready. My realtor knows some contractors and has been sending me some contacts to get a quote.

My question is, should I request a quote from everyone and what is the best way to find one that will get the job done in quality and timely fashion?

@Danny Mak Congrats! I would recommend you get at least 3 quotes for the job. The cheapest quote is not necessarily the best. I would ask for references, a copy of their licenses and insurance. There is no perfect formula with contractors and I have been burned over and over again. As far as doing the job in a timely manner, that is something you should put down on your contract. If contractor says I will be done in 2 weeks than write that on your contract. You can even charge $100 penalty for any extra days if the job is not completed. There is a local FB group called: Black Diamond REI Insiders

Become part of that group and you can ask for contractor referrals. Best of luck and let me know if I can help with anything.

Danny, if you have any issues with finding a contractor, I also have a few different qualified contractors that I can send you.  Just message me.
