Rent or sale primary Home?

In need of some direction....My fiancé and I both own homes. We'll be getting married in a year. He is going to sale his townhome and  we were thinking of keeping mine and renting it out. With that being said we're looking for advice in the best way to handle this.  We'll be purchasing a new home and trying to figure out if it would be feasible to rent or sale my home.

I purchased my single family home in 2015 for $125,000.  I think, I remember seeing something awhile ago about renting your own home and it wasn't worth it. I'm not finding the article, so I would appreciate any helpful advice.

thanks

Monique

Research threads here on what makes a good  cash-flowing rental and what doesn't.  If they don't, then sell.  If it's close, figure out your priorities and if your area is appreciating enough to keep it and make money, especially in the time frame that you could qualify for tax-free sale of primary residence.
