Why do they post such little information?

I have a question that I would like someone to answer for me. When you are looking for whatever type of real estate that you maybe interested in, why do they just post as little information as possible? Here is an example:

4-plex; 2 units 2 bdrm, 1.5 bath; 2 units 1 bdrm, 1 bath; 4 electrical meters; 1 water meter. Of course they throw a picture of the place too. 

Is this typical? I'm just wondering being new and all if that was norm?
