Wanting to buy repository land off the repository list.
Hello, I was unable to find my actual location listed to select so I put down a Pennsylvania town since Im interested in the lands listed in the Pennsylvania repository list.
I've been interested for a while, especially the land listed in the repository list specific to Johnstown, PA.
For me, someone who kives currently in tristate New Jersey, this was my plan, especially as I am trying to downsize.
1: Start an LLC, so that I, once I choose which repository listing I want to buy, can purchase the repository land in the LLCs name for extra legal protections. (Like if someone trips and falls on my land they can only go after the LLC its assets, not me and my assets
2. The more obvious one, choose and buy a repository piece of land (are there any ways to know just how much I should bid for a piece of land? I saw one repository list where somebody had written with one, an amount next to the land, which I presumed is how much it actually coated, and that anyone could go and purchase it for said/written amount as I mentioned... Whereas I was under the impression that to buy repository land you need to bid then wait to see if it is accepted. If that's the case what's a good first bid? 1000?
3. Once steps 1 and two are done, and we assume at this point the land is bought, I go and buy a fifth wheel camper (basically a tiny house on wheels) to live full time on.
4. If I ever decide I want to move back into normal housing I will look to sell the fifth wheel and the land I had bought.
What is stopping me from buying land, and then just putting a camping trailer to live on said land I bought (assuming the township I buy at is okay with me putting a fifth wheel and living on said land)
