This law is going to help the MH industry in a big way. Apartments are going to have to compete with the MH product and, head-to-head, MH typically wins because we have 1) no neighbors knocking on walls and ceilings 2) a yard 3) the ability to park by your front door 4) a more neighborhood feel and 5) THE ABILITY TO BE A HOMEOWNER. I think you'll see the biggest impact in economically weak areas where existing parks have little to work with in demand. Now they can tap into Section 8 as a way to fill lots and homes. When you consider that there are roughly as many people living in Section 8 apartments than in every mobile home in the U.S. combined (around 20 million), you can see that this is a huge market and a big win for MH owners.
