Keep my Engineering Job or Become a Real Estate Agent
Hello guys, I currently work as a consultant for a software company. The pay I get is decent for my specific profession, but I make a fixed salary regardless of how well I perform. I was considering switching to be a Real Estate Agent since they are pay on Performance and the pay is limitless depending on how well you do. This profession also synergies well with being a Real Estate Investor since it will force you to look for comps and learn your market. I was considering going to KW since they have a lot of training available. I just wanted some input from the community. I would have to go part time as a realtor until I can start making some money.
Some of the concerns I have is:
1. Would this be foolish exchanging a job that pays me biweekly and gives me good pay (annual salary is around 70 k) to be a Realtor?
2. I know the majority of new realtors quit the industry after 1 or 2 years .
3. How much do realtors on average actually make? I been looking at indeed and the average real estate makes 40 k a year.
4. Could I even making working a part time as a realtor until I can quit my job.
5. Does being a Real Estate Agent actually help you be a better investor?
