Recommendation for Texas Realtor licensing courses

Amy Lin
Posted

Hello,

I am wanting to to get my real estate license hopefully by end of this year. I would like to look for an online course that I can do it on my own time. I also don't need tons of support. I am good at test taking and studying. I plan to get a license for myself mainly to purchase investment properties. I would appreciate any recommendation! Thanks

@Amy Lin

Look into Champions School of Real Estate.  They have a large footprint across Texas and physical locations in the 4 largest metro areas (Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio).

They offer in-person and online options. And they offer licensing programs for real estate agent, loan origination, home inspection, and appraisal.

I’ve taken licensing courses through Champions and had a really good experience.

Champions is awesome...online and in person....but there are a ton of others...Aceable Agent, Kaplan, CE Shop.  I have a nice coupon for CE shop if you need one.

You can also go to TREC website I think and somewhere in there is pass rate....but sounds like that probably won't matter for you.

Also one idea is just take the classes, but don't get licensed if you just want to buy/sell for yourself.   You don't need a license to buy/sell 1-2 properties a year if you are like most investors.  Get a great realtor on your team to do the contracts for you and provide you a ton of information you will want and need and will save you more money, than going at it alone.

I agree with @Bruce Lynn.  The CE Shop is a great place to take your pre-licensing exam.  It was easy to follow and can be done while working a full-time job.  If you do it, purchase the package with the Pre Edge.  It will help you determine which areas you need to go back and study.  I went through the course and passed on my first try.  Let me know if you have any questions!

I went with AceableAgent. They were the cheapest and easiest to complete for my schedule. Have you found a brokerage to hang your license? Happy to talk to you more about mine
