What to search when buying a pre foreclosure list

Hi I recently started going out and door knocking with a list from list source of pre foreclosures. Ive realized that from talking to everyone that they all are not interested because they already have something figured out with a bank or have some plan to get out of foreclosure. So I'm wondering if I need to search for the list with different criteria and/or should I get the list from another place? Any responses would be appreciated
