Bandit Sign Conflict

Zach Fischer
Posted

Hey y’all! I’m based out of Indiana and have put up around 50 bandit signs in a decent size city. Just got my first complaint call about them yesterday but, it wasn’t from the city. It was actually from Vectren. They said if they weren’t down in 24hrs they would be forced to take legal action. I was wondering if the same rules still apply with it just being a simple fine or if it could be a little worse? I still have them up. Any help is greatly appreciated!

@Zach Fischer

Bandit signs come with controversy.  First off they do work.  The challenge is you end up placing them either in the right of way (city property)  or on private property.  Technically it is trespassing.  Usually its the city.  You can be fined by the city.  I never have heard from a private owner filing a lawsuit, although, I do understand the threat of it.

Good Luck.
