Looking for Some Guidance, Let Me Pick You Brain?

Hello All,

I am a rookie investor based in Atlanta. I've spent hours reading books, articles, and listening to podcasts about real-estate investing. And I'm ready to begin my journey. But I need some support. There's only so much to learn from reading and in this real-estate climate, it would be really helpful for someone who has made some recent investments to afford me 15 minutes of their time. 15 minutes to chat about their journey, challenges, successes, and any lessons learned.

Make no mistake. I put in the work. I know how much time and dedication it can take to find the right deal. I just need help to channel it in the right direction. And I'm always willing to learn from anyone.

If you are interested, please let me know, and I can schedule 15 mins on the books. If not, please let me know if you have someone else in mind.

Thank you,

Austin

I recommend you focus on networking with local investors at meetups. Get to know people, build relationships, and determine if they are the real deal or a pretender.

Asking for investing advice from strangers can be a lot like online dating:

That's not a good ask. Trust me, I am a hustler, can I get 15 minutes of time. You may get some people who take you up on that, but 85% of those will try to sell you a course after. Go to local real estate investor meetups. If you do that for six months and never miss, you will find mentors, partners, and friends that will be harder to find as a new person in the forums here.

@Austin Prewett, rookie investor = house hack your first deal. House hacking is the most risk-averse entry into real estate. Is this a strategy you have considered? If so, taking action is pretty straightforward.

I'm happy to connect! Please shoot me a message.

I'd say join your local REIA or a similar group where you can get in front of people. Don't ask for fifteen minutes of their time necessarily. You can ask to meet up for coffee or something and pick their brain about the market.

Maybe use here to ask for book recommendations.
