David's love for houses began early, as he expressed his artistic talent through landscape paintings depicting vibrant neighborhoods. His journey in the real estate world commenced at the young age of 21 when he purchased his first property - a historic 1824 duplex nestled in the historic West End of Portland, Maine. As David's commitment to serving others deepened, he embarked on a new path. At the age of 28, he was elected to the esteemed Portland City Council, where he served three terms over a nine-year period. It was during this time that he harnessed his knowledge of local government, land use regulations, and building codes to assist individuals in achieving their real estate goals. I highly recommend working with The David Marshall Team! David Marshall helped me sell a house that he had helped me purchase the year prior. He went above and beyond both in helping me close and again in helping get the sale through. The house still needed work and the market was flat when we had to sell, but he found solutions to these challenges and we were able to successfully complete the sale. The David Marshall Team sold my multi-unit for above the asking price with multiple offers and I recommend hiring them. Four years ago, David Marshall helped me buy the duplex and I’m very happy with the appreciation. The process was convenient and had minimal impact on the tenants. The David Marshall Team had a successful open house with multiple agents and the strategy for getting multiple offers worked perfectly. Next time I sell a property, I’ll definitely hire The David Marshall Team.

The David Marshall Team is great to work with and I recommend hiring them. The David Marshall Team helped me buy two houses in a year even though there were multiple offers on both. Then they helped several of my friends buy houses. The house I just bought, I’ll move into and rent the first house. The David Marshall Team was there whenever I needed a showing, inspection, walkthrough, contract, negotiations or advice. The team process was smooth and convenient. I will be sending more of my friends to work with The David Marshall Team.

The David Marshall Team helped us buy a house and we strongly recommend working with them. The team based approach was ideal for showing us homes during the limited time we were available. We were even able to switch to a virtual showing, last minute, when we were not able to make the drive. We found a home and The David Marshall Team negotiated seller concessions. We highly recommend working with The David Marshall Team. David and his team helped us buy our dream home, a lake house in Union. It is actually two properties across the street from each other. It was a competitive situation and we received great advice for how to get the home under contract for the asking price. They were there to guide us through the whole process and gave us advice along every turn and even helped with getting the sellers to pay for part of your closing costs. Our son recommended that we hire The David Marshall Team and we are very happy with the result. We will encourage others to work with them also.

David Marshall sold our house in Biddeford for $25,000 above the asking price. We were planning to make a move when Dave called us. He was professional and calm when we met. He clearly did his research and had a solid strategy for getting us top dollar. Dave and his team hired a great photographer for interior, aerials and a 3D tour. They did an excellent job with marketing the property. The open houses they hosted resulted in multiple offers. We benefited from advice and negotiation skills. My Wife and I are very happy with the job The David Marshall Team, they took care of everything and it closed. We tried to sell it last year and wanted to save money so they went with a national discount brokerage that resulted in three fail contracts. This time we interviewed a couple of experienced agents. The reason that we chose David Marshall is that he was organized, motivated and we were confident that he would get it sold. It was clear that he wanted the job. We appreciate that he did multiple open houses and worked hard to get an offer. We are very happy with the result. It sold for more, even with a very challenging market, than what it would have last year during the hot seller market. We definitely recommend working hiring The David Marshall Team to sell. David Marshall is an extraordinary partner to have if you are looking for an investment property. Over the last three months, David helped me execute my first 1031 exchange. With his guidance and support, I successfully purchased both a triplex and a vacation rental, all from over 3000 miles away. (I live in California.) Throughout the process, David was rock solid dependable. He is both detail-oriented and visionary. He’s equally adept at creating detailed investment analyses and clambering around snowed-in summer camps.He’s a master of using technology, including Skype for showing properties and Google docs for spreadsheets. My partner and I met David at a real estate meet up and were immediately drawn to him. His experience working on Portland City Council and extensive knowledge of codes stood out to us, as well as his relaxed demeaner and the fact that he was an investor himself. We started working with David shortly after meeting and were instantly impressed with his excellent communication, his insistence on doing due diligence, and his attention to detail. He even saved us from getting into a deal that was mis-represented by encouraging us to double check things we simply would not have looked deeper into. He really thinks like an investor and is more interested in making sure numbers work then being pushy to close a deal. With us being new to real estate investing as well as being new to the area, he has been very helpful in recommending lenders, inspectors, and electricians as well as sharing his spreadsheets and numbers with us. We have done two deals with David so far and look forward to doing many more in the future. He is as advertised, very knowledgeable about all aspects of rental property sales and ownership, and he's well-connected with other "team members" that you may need along the way.
We put in an offer that wasn't immediately accepted, so David continued to present additional off-market properties he was finding through hard work. When our initial offer was accepted, he advised at various stages of the following inspections and negotiations. When there was a tough decision, we never felt pressured to close the deal because it would benefit him. If you're looking for someone that knows this market well and will respect your goals, I highly recommend working with David.

It is extremely challenging to find a good real-estate broker in this oversaturated market but David is one of them. He guided me through my first out-of-state deal, presenting me with options that met my very confined criteria (along with spreadsheet analyses).
Most impressive to me was his ability to find off-market deals which was critical during this extremely tough buyers market.
Otherwise, David is very cool throughout the entire process which speaks to his experience and is also extremely resourceful. Overall I’m very happy I chose David as my broker!

I highly recommend working with The David Marshall Team. David helped me buy a duplex and a triplex within the last couple of years. The duplex was an off-market listing that David secured and when he showed it to me, I could see it was a good opportunity and The David Marshall Team helped me through the whole process. After doing a rehab on the duplex, it was time for the next property. David set me up with property e-alerts and then I saw a triplex right in the area I was looking in. He set up a showing with an agent of The David Marshall Team and we viewed the property. When I made the decision to move forward, David advised me on how to make a strong offer and we were ultimately successful with putting it under contract. The process was challenging and it was great to have a strong team by my side to get me over the finish line.

Over the past year, I have purchased 4 properties using David Marshall as my realtor. Prior to working with David, I had worked with other realtors in a competitive market but I kept losing bids on every property. Since working with David, we are 4 for 4 on getting our offers accepted. David sets up showings quickly and writes offers immediately in order to get us under contract. I had the pleasure of meeting David at a Biggerpockets meetup way back in May of 2019. What stood out to me was his kindness and his friendliness at that meetup and we had a great conversation. I later reached out to David and he helped mentor me for a high school project that I was doing on real estate investing. His knowledge from being on the Portland City Council as well as a very active investor and realtor played a huge role in setting me up with information that I can use to one day purchase my first property. I know when I am ready I will be going straight to David because he not only knows many of the markets in Maine like Harpswell, Auburn, and Portland to name a few but his investment knowledge will play a huge role as he always stressed the importance of thorough due diligence and understanding your personal finances before purchasing property. The David Marshall Team helped us buy a house and we strongly recommend working with them. The team based approach was ideal for showing us homes during the limited time we were available. We were even able to switch to a virtual showing, last minute, when we were not able to make the drive. We found a home and The David Marshall Team negotiated seller concessions. The seller paid our closing costs. We benefited from the strong negotiation skills and flexible showing approach of the The David Marshall Team. We highly recommend working with The David Marshall Team. David and his team helped us buy our dream home, a lake house in Union. It is actually two properties across the street from each other. It was a competitive situation and we received great advice for how to get the home under contract for the asking price. They were there to guide us through the whole process and gave us advice along every turn and even helped with getting the sellers to pay for part of your closing costs. Our son recommended that we hire The David Marshall Team and we are very happy with the result. We will encourage others to work with them also.

David Marshall sold our house in Biddeford for $25,000 above the asking price. We were planning to make a move when Dave called us. He was professional and calm when we met. He clearly did his research and had a solid strategy for getting us top dollar. Dave and his team hired a great photographer for interior, aerials and a 3D tour. They did an excellent job with marketing the property. The open houses they hosted resulted in multiple offers. We benefited from advice and negotiation skills. We highly recommend working with The David Marshall Team.

My Wife and I are very happy with the job The David Marshall Team, they took care of everything and it closed. We tried to sell it last year and wanted to save money so they went with a national discount brokerage that resulted in three fail contracts. This time we interviewed a couple of experienced agents. The reason that we chose David Marshall is that he was organized, motivated and we were confident that he would get it sold. It was clear that he wanted the job. We appreciate that he did multiple open houses and worked hard to get an offer. We are very happy with the result. It sold for more, even with a very challenging market, than what it would have last year during the hot seller market. We definitely recommend working hiring The David Marshall Team to sell. We just popped a bottle of champagne last night!
